Often, when an employee leaves a position to go on to bigger and better things, their employer will have them complete some sort of "exit interview" as a way to get feedback on their organization.
For this final graded assignment, you will write a 350 word essay as a blog post on your website which openly and honestly evaluates your experience as an assistant in the Lincoln High School Media Center. Reflect on your experiences in the media center, both as an "employee" as well as a student user.
Please be sure to include both positive and negative opinions, but remember to be respectful and objective and try to keep any negative comments limited to useful and constructive criticism as opposed to ranting, whining, or bashing. This way, you are making one last contribution to the company and you can leave gracefully on a good note.
1. Describe some of the benefits of the experience and how it may be useful in your current and future endeavors. What skills and knowledge did you learn that you feel will strengthen your future experiences in school (higher education), employment (job and career), and life?
2. Also, contrast the experience: describe and critique the course’s drawbacks. Be sure to explain how you think the program could better benefit the student. Please feel free to be completely frank, as all constructive criticisms are welcome and will not negatively impact your evaluation in any way.
3. Next, share what your plans are for the summer and the Fall and the next year or so. Are you headed to college, career/job, military, or what? Do you have any fun things or destinations planned for your last "summer vacation" from high school?
4. Finally, share a fun memory or funny experience from being in the media center that you will look back on fondly.
5. As with any blog post, be sure to do the following before publishing: always be sure to proof-read, spell-check, etc. And don't forget to give your post an appropriate title, include a relevant image (with a caption), external hyperlinks, and at least three tags.
6. When your blog post is complete and you've published it to the web, please email Mr. Kipp the url to the post so that he can go directly to it and evaluate it.
